Day 6!
Today was probably the most beautiful day I have had here. To celebrate, after lunch, we took a walk down Harlaxton's one mile driveway and out the front gate. We then spent a good chunk of the afternoon exploring the small village we are situated in, Harlaxton. The streets were lined with cute old homes with some of the most amazing gardens I have ever seen. We were in search of the path that ran along the canals but could never find it. That will be an adventure for another day.
In fact, the weather was so good that after returning back to The Carriage House and putting in a load of laundry I decided to break out the tennis shoes, or "trainers" as they are called here, and go for a run. I chose the Bluebell trail. As I got halfway through, I stopped. First, I'll be honest, I was out of breath. Second, I just realized that I was running on this beautiful trail surrounded by bluebells in the middle of ENGLAND, and it only took a week for me to realize it. (Haha.) I cannot say enough how blessed and thankful I am to be on this trip. Not only was I given an amazing opportunity to achieve a goal, but I am also surrounded by so many other kind and motivated people who have truly made me feel at home away from home.
Tomorrow, I begin another adventure as we head to London. I promise to take plenty of photos but will sadly have to wait till I get back to Harlaxton to upload them. I will continue to blog and share my experiences!
Hoping for a fantastic, jaw-dropping weekend!
