We have been in Varanasi for a day longer than expected already but we are going to leave tomorrow for Mumbai which involves a 28 hour train journey and that's if it's on time which seems unlikely.

In the last 4 days we walked around Varanasi, a lot. The river Ganges runs right through the city and is India holiest river. Hundreds of people are cremated in one spot on its banks every day the cremations are public and there are numerous happening and any one time. It is a very strange thing to watch although we did it twice once on New Year's Eve when we were walking along the river and then on at boat trip we did again last night.

We have been in a hostel so have made friends and been chilling in the hostel as the weather has been really bad. We've been eating street food for the last 3 days and not only is it really tasty and very cheap but we haven't got sick!
