Today saw us get up and after a typically strange Indian breakfast, head out for a guided tour of some of Mandawa's most impressive havelis. (Will add some pictures)
We then set off for Bikanear stopping firstly at the NRCC (National Research Centre on Camels) which was actually pretty interesting. Did you know; camels are a significantly better investment for the poor locals farmers than an ox!? Although Ange just wanted to touch one!
After drinking some camel milk we continued on to the famous rat temple! Where there are thousands of rats living within the hindui temple, it is said that even in the time of the plague the area around the temple was unaffected by the disease that killed millions! It is also belived that seeing a rare white rat or having any rat run across your bare toes is good luck!
After arriving at our hotel, an egually as impressive building as yesterday's hotel, we headed out for dinner we choose a very busy cateen style restaurant where we had a couple of thali's (a tray consisting of various dishes) as well as samosas and waters for less than 4 quid (about 6 US dollars).
Almost everything we have eaten in India so far has been vegetarian and while I am looking forward to some meet it has all been really tasty!
Early night now before a long drive tomorrow.

Ian G Will resist the temptation to correct spelling, no hope with you and with Angela being a yankee there's no help there!! Really enjoying the blogs though, keep it up. Enjoy and travel safe, D, T & M
