We have been in Varanasi for a day longer than expected already but we are going to leave tomorrow for Mumbai which involves a 28 hour train journey and that's if it's on time which seems unlikely. In the last 4 days we walked around Varanasi, a lot. The river Ganges runs right through the city and is India holiest river. Hundreds of people are cremated in one spot on its banks every day the cremations are public and there are numerous happening and any one time...

After our first train journey we arrived in Varanasi, well sort of; we actually arrived in mogul sarai which is about 25kms away from Varanasi. So after the usually negotiating and haggling we were in an auto rickshaw heading to our hostel in Varanasi. We are shortly about to leave Agra and head back to Delhi to board on first train to Varanassi, were we will be for new year.
