Terry and Annabel decided to take us to see the Phantom of the Opera being performed in Cape Town. Their friends Ian (the vet) and Mel had been the previous week and said it was amazing.

The performance was being set up by the West End crew and is using the same set, only the cast is made up of South African performers. Sarah has always wanted to see this particular show so was very excited about it.

When we arrived we grabbed a pre-performance drink in a bar outside but barely had time to finish them before we were being called to our seats.

I won't go into too much detail about the show as I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but Ian and Mel were right, it was great. The theatre was packed and the show and all the effects were brilliant. Highly recommended.

Without saying too much I would love to know how they do the trick at the end where the Phantom disappears from his chair!
