Christmas Eve was a really chilled day. Sarah and I headed down to Big Bay in the morning to relax at the beach and buy each other a small present in the local shops. Anthony was racing and Terry and Annabel went to watch him but he only had one race in the morning so all three of them joined us in the afternoon. Justin was spending the day with Claudia and her friend who was visiting from England and they also came and joined us later on.
Big Bay is a famous surf beach just up the road from Table View. The views of Cape Town and Table Mountain are just as good from there and the sun was beating down. We watched the kite surfers as we sat in a restaurant on the beach called Moyo.
Moyo is an African chain which is really very nice and we all sat at the surf board benches with our feet in the cool water pool below. It was really relaxing and we had lunch and cocktails. A face painting lady walks around and painting little patterns out of white dots on people's faces. Everyone gets a different design. They were quite nice and all the girls had them done.
That evening we headed back to the farm and I headed to bed as I still wasn't feeling well but Sarah went out with Ants to a bar in Table View for a few drinks arriving back sometime in the early morning. Unlike in the UK, Christmas Eve isn't really celebrated in the same way and most people just spend the evening with their families but Sarah was determined to go out as she normally would back home and I know she had a really good night!
