We had decided to go to the local butterfly farm which had been highly recommended by several people, it was not just butterfly's though it also had lizards, spiders, monkeys, snakes and various birds.

Once we had parked up we headed in first stop the ice cream department it was so hot! Then we went in to the enclosure where it was still warm and there were loads of butterfly's all over the place. There was a hatchery as well which showed all of the cocoon's and showed the different varieties. I think the most amazing one was the one with the transparent wings, these were very hard to take pictures of as the camera just focused on what was behind much to Sarah's disappointment!

As we wandered through we also saw the rest of the animals, there were some big anacondas in a vivarium and also some other snakes including a couple of cobras. We then headed into the spider section there were loads of spiders and all were different varieties, a large amount of the spiders were from a consignment that had been confiscated from a shipment from South America and were unknown varieties.

There were also a few frogs in the same room which were very hard to spot and also they were very small and well camouflaged. The poison arrow frog was very bright although you wouldn't want to touch it! We walked out the door and back into the butterfly enclosure where there was a family with a push chair and there was a small monkey climbing all over it, we watched for a while then I wandered off to look at the iguanas. Sarah called me back as the monkey was crawling round her feet, then all of a sudden it started to look under her skirt and climb up! Cheeky monkey! It was so funny, and the monkey was so friendly.

We then both went to look at the iguanas. There were loads of them and they were all large and at least a metre or so long. In the undergrowth there were some small deer type animals wandering around as well, they were really small.

The enclosure next to that was full of birds, some parrots, budgies, chickens, cockatoo's and all sorts! We walked in and one of the parrots we walked past said hello, it took us a few minutes to work out which one was saying hello as it only spoke when we had our back turned but once we worked it out we could make it carry on saying it which was fun.

We finished walking around and then went back to the farm before heading to the local pub La Bac for some tea and some games of pool.
