The route we had planned to Cape Point took us the scenic route via Muizenberg and Simon's Town. It was a very nice day and the sun was shining, we had borrowed Justin's car and made good time getting there just before lunch. The scenery on the way there was stunning with lush mountains on the one side and golden beaches on the other. Some of the villages seemed very English at points.

The area of Cape Point itself is actually a National Park and once we entered the park we headed straight for the main point. The park was very nice and we were keeping our eye out for baboons and other wildlife that was supposedly abundant. The funicular (a type of monorail) took us up to the most of the way to the cliff top and original lighthouse. The final part was just a short walk where we could look over the edge towards the sea. It is believed by many that this is where Atlantic and the Pacific oceans meet but this is totally wrong and the actual meeting place is further up the coast.

We admired the stunning views and took a few pictures but it was very busy there, we looked at the sign post (like the ones you get all over the world) to see where places were and how far away such as London, New York, Auckland, etc. It was very interesting for us looking at places where we had been and where we were going to visit on our route.

Once we had finished we headed back down and grabbed some lunch, we were hoping to see some baboons here but there were none around, there was however a small stripy mouse that was very tame and people were actually stroking it. After this we headed across to the Cape of Good Hope which is much more scenic. On the way there we got our wish and spotted a baboon and its baby sat on the top of a parked car, everyone had stopped and was taking photos, the baboon didn't take any notice at all though and carried on sitting there and minding its own business.

The Cape of Good Hope was stunning the views were amazing, we took a few quick photos of the scenery with the waves crashing over the rocks before we decided to head back to the farm as we were having a nice braai! The route took us down the other coast on the western side of the Point and again the road was brilliant, not too many cars either.
