After breakfast it was quite late ie 9am before I started trekking. The path was simple and clear, more of the same, like yesterday. However, this time the path went through even more woods full of enormous eucalyptus trees. The smell of eucalyptus was overwhelming and in the humidity of the day helped to give an extra boost to the walking effort.
I stopped for a picnic lunch with a friend, a boccodillo of delicious cooked ham and tomatoes.
One of the things that has struck me on this Camino is the number of memorials that there are along the way in memory of people who have died while walking the Camino or when they have reached Santiago. Today I passed a particularly moving one of a 52 year old Irish woman who died in Santiago shortly after completing her second Camino. It was a sad and moving site.
Only 19 km to Santiago tomorrow I simply can't believe it or want it to end!
