Left the last albergue late at around 8pm, which is very late in comparison to other mornings, but I did have a lovely lie in.
The journey to Leon was not one of the longest but it was hard because the path followed a main road most of the time , or it actually was on the main road. Nothing much to say about the journey really except to say that the sun was shining and listening to music helped a great deal.
After a number of toilet and refreshment stops I arrived in Leon about 3 pm. Before reaching the cathedral and the centre however I stopped at a corte ingles outlet shop and got myself a lovely orange dress , specially chosen, because I was fed up of wearing leggings and shorts.
Leon cathedral was incredible!! The stained glass was breath taking and the exterior reminded me very much of Notre Dame. I can honestly say it was one of the best I've ever seen.
I had a lovely pilgrim meal with a friend and other pilgrims in the evening. Leon was buzzing with pilgrims, I recognised a lot of people I had seen along the way.
Only 300km now from Santiago and I am beginning to sense the excitement. People know they can make it now!
Went to benediction on the evening, as the albergue was run by nuns. Closing time was early !!
