Set off in Afternoon and I took first stint of driving up the Captain Cook highway to Port Douglas. The scenary along the way was awesome. Stopped off en route at 'Rex Viewpoint' whcih was a fantastic viewpoint and took opportunity to take some pics (which I will upload shortly). Couple hours later we arrived at Port Douglas and stopped off at a section of 4 mile beach where some kite surfing was going on. Took in views along beach and then jumped in car to head further into town. Stopped here at another section of beach which was more sunbather friendly with stinger nets in water and lifeguards on duty. Had a walk around town and grabbed some stubbies and sausages to cook on beach front BBQ (I truly am living the Austrailian dream now!!). How good is that having BBQ's along the beach.......... Had a totally radical hotdog dude thanks to these facilties, cowabunga!!!! After few beers sitting on beachfront, converted Mcluvin into sleep mode and dropped back seats down and layed out matress. The passion wagon was complete (although no passion tonight thankyou, since my company was going to be Andy!!!!). Got a twitch in me a****** and needed a sh1t but no toilets around, only thing to do is to dig a hole on beach and have a squat!! Lets hope we have high tide tonight!!
Next morning woke up at 7am after first night in Mcluvin, pretty warm in car so not a great deal of sleep was achieved. Had a cup of tea brewed up on the camping stove.................. and then went and threw aerobie around beach for couple hours. Then went for morning swim whcih was nice and refreshing. Had my shower under beach showers standing there with shampoo in hand, not sure what locals thought of that mind you!!?? Oh well needed a freshen up freshen up so took advantage of facilities. Drove literally 100 metres down road and came to a big car park full of campers. Turns out this is where everyone else camped for night as there was toilet block and shower facilities here!!!! Doh, if only had known that last night, did wonder where everyone else was driving off to in their campers?? Set off at midday for our nest stop up the coast at Cape Tribulation, Andy took control of the wheel for this stint and I relaxed and took in the sae breeze and sea views as the journey continues northwards.
