Not a lot to report from Singapore it literally was a 1 night stop over to allow me to get my flight to Oz so all ended up doing was sitting around hostel watching final day of olympics, which I must add we did fantastically well in!!!

Got to airport nice and early and chilled out around here. Such a modern airport there was internet everywhere and tv's with sofas which had interegrated speakers in them to allow you to watch just about every channel going on satellite, this was most comfort I have had I should of just spent the night here........ Arrived at Brisbane at 6.30am and got skytrain to somestic airport where i waited for 6 hours for Andys flight to arrive. This was not so much fun as at Singapore airport!!! My first impressions of Brisbane was sh1t this is cold!! I suppose 7 months in Asia is going to do that to you when you enter somewhere like Brisbane in winter!! Andys flight arrived bang on time at midday and then got skytrain into town where a minibus would pick us up from and spent this time cathcing up on everything which had happened in last 7 months.

Arrived at 'Bunk' our hostel for next 3 nights and I was really impressed with the facilities, massive kitchen, clean dorms with en-suite shower and toilet. By fat cleanest and moderns dorm I have stayed in yet. Had a couple beers that evening with a couple from USa called Andy and Annie together with a guy called Chris (England) who was in our Dorm. Entered into a pub quiz and our team was Andy, Chris and myself. We were totally rubbish and most questions were Oz related. We still ended up winning prizes though since we won final round and yet still lost overall so got prizes for both of those including free beer, cannot complain at that since entry was free!!!!! Get in. Especailly given the prices of everything here, my god its expensive although again I have just come here from Asia so not the best move in terms of expenses!! I do think this place is even momre expensive then England mind you atnd thats saying something..............

Next day Chris, Andy, myself and another guy from dorm called Tom got a train a few stops along and visited the Castlemaine XXXX brewery. Did a tour here and this was fantastic real good tour walking through seeing everything working and being produced. Best part of tour was 4 beers at the end of tour which were included in ticket price. Sampled four of the differant varieties available here and then headed back to hostel where we proceeded to drink into the night playing drinking games until the early hours of the morning with the other 5 people from our dorm............ Really good fun (from what I can remember!!!).

Had a walk around city next day and walked across the 'Story Brisge'. We had decided to head north to Cairns since weather would be more agreeable (warmer) and hopefully more cars available (plan is to buy a car and drive the coastal road) since Brisbane did not have huge amount plus better to start from Cairns at top then head down south along the east coast anyway. Got a good deal with Jetstar and following day got lift into town then grabbed a skytrain back to airport for our 2 hour flight up to Cairns.
