Day 36:
Leaving York it was a lovely sunny day with few clouds. We stopped at Beverley for coffee and then onwards towards Rockingham. Lunch was in a roadside stop before the horrible suburban traffic started. We have been so used to no traffic and bush that it is quite horrible to be surrounded by civilisation - the things we do for those we love. It was quite easy to negotiate around Perth as we came down the eastern side and turned right/left/ and right and there we were in Rocky.
Caravan Park is on the foreshore and quite new. We had a code and instructions on how to get in as no office is open during the day. Of course, ours didn't work, had our name on the mail box but it was not the one we were told to open and our code didn't work. Another person came in behind us and hers did work so we just gave a random number between hers and ours and it worked, thank goodness. Lovely and quiet and not too many people around as there are only 15 sites for vans, lots of cabins and permanents. We are right beside the massive grain silos where the grain is taken out along the pier to waiting ships. As long as the siren doesn't go off all should be well.
Kim, Gary and Terry (Wally's nephews) invited us down to join them for dinner, only 8 kms from where we are staying. So, we sat and chatted for some time enjoying their company as always before returning to Gina.
Day 37:
Today, we went into Fremantle to meet up with David and Val (sister-in-laws brother and wife) who also live over here and we have missed meeting them on our previous two trips over here, Wally hasn't seen them for over 40 years. Enjoyed lunch at Benny's after a trip thru the Freo markets, we only bought some fresh bread but oh dear did we want to enjoy some tastings there. It is AFL Grand Final day so Freo was going off with fans screaming the place down from all hotels, of which there are many. We had to enter a shopping centre (ahhhh Wally was tense) on the way back to Rocky as my shoes have become bright red from dust and unwearable in civilised country - Kmart special of cheap wearables till we are again in bush country. May also have purchased some paints and canvases that were on special in a shop opposite Kmart, not my fault it was in my face and I felt the need to think about my art projects. Enjoyable day, the wind is still quite fresh but the sun is out. We have bought fresh fish for dinner and are relaxing with a glass of wine, always good.
The photo was taken as we arrived back cause I can't post without a photo, so not very exciting but it is in our view all the time from our park.
Love xx
