Day 11:
A night of a diesel generator going all night and I do remember that from seven years ago but we were all up and gone by 8 am. Balladonia is just a stopover point for everyone it seems. It was an uneventful 200 kms to Norseman …. The end of the Nullarbor…..yayyyyyyy. The area is classed the western woodland area and so just 200 kms of woodland, couldn't even play 'eye spy'. The day fairly cloudy and bleak so not interesting. Norseman is fairly sad but we did the 'camel pics' and had a coffee before on our way again but finally heading north to Kalgoorlie. Some unusual vistas of 'no water' lakes and lunch in a truck stop where we had seen a mother emu with 10 baby chicks on the side of the road. Could not take photo but hope she was keeping them safe from huge road trains. We did see a train coming down from Kalgoorlie going to Esperance, must have been a kilometre long on its own filled with ore. Just starting to see some wildflowers on the side of the roads. Pretty but now stopworthy. We have agreed no flower pics, sorry Dad, but unless it is a field of 'wowness' from us it is not getting our attention.
We are now at Kalgoorlie for a wonderful 4 nights of not moving…yayyy and an ensuite site so we have showered to oblivion and it is such a pleasure to be cleeeane. And so say all of us. xxx
