We met the Kiwi bus at about 8:30am. Our new driver was called Josh and there were lots more people also getting on the bus. Altogether there were 22 of us. The first thing we did was go to the Kiwi Experience office to book all our buses for the next few weeks. After that the bus drove to the top of Mount Eden. It is the highest extinct volcano in Auckland. From the top you get a really good view of the city and of the crater. We spent about 15 minutes at the top before driving out of Auckland. We headed east for 2 hours, stopped for lunch and then drove another hour and a half to Cathedral cove.
We were at the top of a cliff so we had a 30 minute walk down to the beach. It was a beautifulbeach and the sea was freezing so I dint go in but the 4 boys managed it. We sunbathed for just over an hour before walking back up the cliff to the bus. We continued to the small town of Whitianga where we stayed at the Turtle Cove Hostel. The people who owned it made us spagetti bolognaise which was delicious. We then went to the pub called Smitty's down the road to watch England Vs Argentina rugby match. England won but only just! We went back to the hostel which had really nice beds for a great nights sleep.
