13th November 2007
Written some time after the event to accompany the photos of the walk now developed.
I had kept an article from the Herald of 25th October 2003 of a walk up Cruachan Hill in the Trossachs. The fantastic photograph made me want to climb it some day and nearly four years later....
April was the best month this year with lovely sunny days. Amanda was on a weeks holiday and I was still off work looking after my folks. We travelled north and parked in Inversnaid Hotel car park. The article described Cruachan as 'an agreeable little hill'. Don't think Amanda agrees! The path wasn't clearly marked and the ascent over rough ground seemed to go on for ever. It was worse on the way back when we lost the path and got into more trouble trying 'short' cuts.
However...at the top we had fantastic views to the north, taking in Loch Arklet and Loch Katrine with Ben Ledi and Benvane in the distance. to the west and south Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond commanded our attention.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed our well earned and very cold libation in the Inversnaid hotel before driving back south.

Nasuha A fine photo despite all the aseirdvty. The lighting and exposure are excellent. Isn't it amazing how we photographers can twist our bodies to protect our cameras during a fall. Glad both you and the camera suffered no permanent damage.
