Hi,
If you have a free day out from Glasgow and fancy two trips on a boat with a six mile hike in between then this is for you!
You can find this walk in the lastest edition of the free magazine available on http://www.scottishwalks.com/ You take the car to Tarbet, where there is plenty of good car parking by the jetty and a wee kiosk selling coffee and sandwiches for your trip. The boat costs £14.50 and this includes two sailings.
Amanda and myself left on the 1000 boat, arriving at Rowardennan about 20 minutes later. We then had a failry easy jaunt along the eastern shore of the loch, stopping for a picnic en route. If you were going to boot it, you could get up to Inversnaid for the 1415 boat, but we were very relaxed, getting to Inversnaid for about 1500, leaving plenty of time for a cool libation in the bright sunshine outside the hotel.
The boat back to Tarbet leaves at 1630 for a 30 minute sail back over. This gave us time to search around for a place for dinner. Al fresco dining in the Lomond Arms Hotel in Luss is highly recommended despite the presence of a pirate themed stag party at the other end of the dining area!
A great day out. Hope the pictures give a flavour of the experience.
More walking blogs and photos due out soon!
All the best

Amanda Jackson Hello M - don't want to nitpick, but the boat from Tarbet to Rowardennan leaves at 10:00, not 10:30. A.
Murdo A, duly amended or should I say Amanded!!!
