Hi,
This is just a brief note to accompany the photos of a quick trip over to Belfast, primarily to see the Titanic exhibition. I swithered as to whether it was worth putting this in a blog but I think it will give you a brief taster of what the facility is like.
It was a fairly short overnight visit. Easyjet flights were cheap with carry on luggage only and we got a centrally located air b n b. There not a lot you can say about major exhibitions as the photos are mainly a sample of what you see when you walk through them.
The exhibition is easly accessible via bus from the city centre. The tourist information opposite the Town Hall were very helpful and you can buy bus tickets there. A day ticket is under a fiver so very cheap.
I would say Titanic is well worth visiting. It really brings home the scale of the building project and a wider insight into shipbuilding in Belfast, especially during that period. During the walk through there is an optional car ride and I would advise anyone to take it as it explores different levels and gives a better perspective on the project overall.
There are views over Belfast from the top of the building. The area where Titanic is located is being rapidly developed but you can see the iconic Harland and Wolf shipyard cranes in the distance.
I took a stroll around the city centre and have a few photos of the main buildings. I have a plan to return and explore more fully on another day, having made a list of places to see.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy this brief taste of what was a very short trip.
All the best
Murdo
