Hi,

I have just posted the photos of Kathleen and Hugh's Wedding and this blog is just a brief accompanyment.

The wedding was held at Glasgow RP Church in Partick, just a twenty minute walk from my flat and was conducted by Rev. Kenneth Stewart. The reception was at Crutherland House Hotel in East Kilbride.

My connections with the Gillies family are many. I am distantly related to Iain (father of the groom ) through Raasay connections and can go back to the 1960s for connections with the MacKenzie family on Hugh's mother Christine's side. I was an usher at Iain and Christines' wedding, when my father conducted the service. I also share a birthday with the groom!

It was a fabulous occasion and in addition to catching up with Gillies and MacKenzie past and present connections it was great to meet Kathleen and family and take part in a special day for all concerned. Thanks to the MacDonald family for the wonderful hospitality.
