11th July 2019
Hi,
I finally achieved a long held ambition to travel on the West Highland line, one of the most famous train journeys in the world. Along with my brother Donald we travelled north on the second of July, taking in the whole route and stayed overnight in Mallaig.
The following day we took a boat trip to Canna, stopping briefly in Rhum on the way over. Lorna appeared out of nowhere to join us for the day!
This fulfilled another long term ambition to see the Small Isles. As well as seeing Rhum and Canna close up we had views of Eigg and over to the Cuillens of Skye in the distance. It was a bit damp when we left but the weather picked up as the day went on.
This blog is just a brief note to accompany the photos which will tell the story of the trip.
Would highly recommend these trips to anyone. Hope you like the photos which are Scottish weather dependent!
