Hey ho,
Thats it 5 weeks have flashed by, we've felt so at home here, it feels like we are packing up to go travelling for the first time, which is great! A perfect place to get our travellers legs back....but with soo much going on in town, we haven't had a lazy last week. Oh No.
We spent a few great nights with Natalia and Tom, who Debs met at her body pump classes. It was great meeting them, going round to their apartment to eat pasta and watch Boca Juniors romp home to a 3 - 0 victory, going to watch a band they knew at the Roxy nightclub and being taken for some great Parillias and Peruvian Japanese food! Who knew?
Tom also made sure we sampled the best Choripan (sausage sandwich) in town and guided us towards the most rockingly good ice creams! (Delux de Leche!!) Nat and Tom are moving to Leeds for over a year soon, so we'll see them again, back in Blighty. Cheers guys.
We also got entangled in the growing political battle, unwittingly, when we popped back into Cafe Tortoni for a coffee and found ourselves in the throes of a media circus as the leader of the main party made a surprise appearance there! Made a hasty exit to visit the beautiful Gallerias Pacifico Shopping Mall, check out the pics.
Also had a very drunken night out with Bridget and Graham (AKA The Pymms), playing pool into the wee hours, who won? Couldn't tell ya. Fun tho'rnrnOn our last sunday, we took the long bus ride to the edge of town to a great Gaucho and northern influenced Feria (Market).
We couldn't resist such random items a mate cup, a tango apron and a poster for Palermo Beer. Sadly we couldn't ride on the minature horses that were roaming around, so we settled for copious amounts of meat followed by candy floss. A balanced diet thats what we're all about people.
So, its on our one year travelling anniversary that we set of by boat to Uruguay, and the capital of Montevideo with renewed energy. Hope everyones happy and healthy!
