Taxi-ing to the hostel in Palermo, the first glimpses of BA were bizarre, masses of women laying on their backs exercising in the parks....dogs doing that thing they do becuase they can't use toilet paper.....one of BA's more noticable problems...canine poo everywhere....watch your step, and men dressed as Barney the bear...with not another sole around?

But a good looking and lively city if ever you saw one.The following morning we walked all over Palermo Viejo and Palermo Hollywood, seperated by the train tracks.....the trendy part of town, with great bars and restaurants on every corner...looking for the right spot to settle for a few weeks.

We looked at loads of places on the internet and narrowed it down to one....which turned out to be close, but no cigar. Then the next day we saw one, a little more pricey but right up our alleyway. Four hours later we had the keys. Its a swanky pad, loft style, open plan, underfloor heating and cable tv.

We decided to chill here for 5 weeks....and get the energy to hit the road again... It won't be easy going back into hostels!The rest of the week we arranged to start spanish lessons on Monday, 5 hours a day, for 4 days. Deb also joined a gym and got her hair straigtened and cut into a fringe. (see the before and after picture - coming soon!!)

Then we nested.....watched alot of Tv, went out with travelling mates ( Hi, Yori, Vicky, Sue, Liam, Pauric....). Its great to have a home from home even for a few weeks!Bs As updates to follow.... xx
