Slept much better on a wine head last night! We both woke up absolutely freezing from the air con though... you can’t win!
It was still raining at 4am when we were tossing and turning because of the 10,000 roosters all cook-a-doodle-Doing at the same time.
A very brief freezing cold shower before our 5am car down to Tagbilaran (not sure why they wanted us to leave so early, it only takes 30 minutes to get there).
We got there super early at the ferry station, the counter we needed wasn’t open so we waited but nothing and then three French lads turned up wanting the same boat but their shuttle driver waited and took me and one of them into the town so we could buy tickets in their office up the road. They advertised their boat wrong it wasn’t at 7am it was at 8am which was a little annoying because we could have had another hour in bed but at the same time we wouldn’t have slept for the damn animals.
Our car ferry had no vehicles on it and probably about 30 people out of 100+ that could have been (clearly it wasn’t a popular route)!
We got over to Argao port at 11am and walked to the end of the road in time for a bus to come down the road and let us hop on. The easy bit now, wait for our stop off at Oslob!
A long morning again but it’s all Ben fairly easy and it’s stopped raining and it’s not too sticky so all good!
My nose is still full up and feeling a little s***ty I can not wait to sit down at the pool and chill out with an afternoon nap!!
The pool was not a go zone because we had to go find a cash point in the town, the bank was closed, the one atm had no cash, the other atm wasn’t international banks so we managed to find one in a hotel. By the time we got back to the hotel it was cloudy and not looking promising! By this time we both needed a nap so our double beds (one each) with oh so comfy pillows and mattresses were calling our name! I dosed for over an hour and then we went back into town for some dinner.
The heavens absolutely opened when we were half way, we had to stop in at one of the hotels because it was absolutely crazy it was coming down like bullets! We were ringing wet! Then our phone started screaming at us telling us that there was an orange warning in place for rain in the area which we were. Uhhh, yeah a little late we had already realised this!
The wind was making it worse, we stopped there for a while and had a beer to wait out the rain. But even after it had stopped it was still trying its hardest to rain again! The sky when the rain clouds moved was lovely colours of pinks and purples. It was gorgeous!
We had some grub, got back to the hotel. Did your squats and sit ups and headed to bed for our 5.30am wake up call for the whale shark excursion tomorrow morning!! Woohooo!
There was a little fishing boat outside the front of our hotel that wasn’t looking too clever, well to be honest it was pretty much already sunk! That owner isn’t going to be best pleased in the morning! I just hope it’s not our boat for tomorrow haha!
