Bloody cloudy on our last day and windy!
At least it helped us not sweat so much on our hike up to diniwid beach, trying a new beach today. The photos look cool and it’s tiny. It’s up from the main white beach but we walked the road through the island because I don’t think you can get to it around the rocks.
It was about a 3.5km walk, the flip dips supporting us all the way! Ellie’s sliders are on their last day today thank god! The bloody things are falling apart, not sure how they’ve lasted this long to be honest.
We got to diniwid beach, it was clean and small and the water and sand was just like white beach. However the photos on google were most definitely not from recently. when they shut the island for a year the businesses and hotels must have closed because there was just empty run down shacks falling apart on the cliff and rock face. Ahhh.... well that’s not ideal.
Lots of locals too and didn’t really have the ‘legs spend the afternoon here chilling’ vibe. So curiously I walked over to the left of the beach and low and behold what did we find.... a god damn path that had been built into the rocks so you could walk onto white beach!! The hour long sweaty walk up and down in and out, over roadworks and dodging tricycles wasn’t actually needed! We only had to walk to the end of the white beach in a straight line to the bloody beach!
Took us 10 minutes after a few photo stops to get to the place we sunbathed two day’s ago! Just about to set up and the heavens open so what else to do than take Ellie’s idea up on going to the 7/11 buying two cheeky bottles of beer and having them on the beach. Warning! We could get fined quite hefty if the tourist police catch us or a paddle board/scuba instructor/what ever else they are dobs is in to them because it’s not allowed on the beach. Luckily we are smart and have brown paper bags, sat out the way of everyone and had each other’s blind spot to put the beer in the bag if the men in blue come by.
The weather picked up a little and got really hot, made the sea look extra specially crystal clear and blue today which was nice for the last sighting of it!
Still not feeling very really that we are going home Sunday and this was our last day in the sun! It is however time for a pamper and our Christmas doo!
We had our nails done in a salon, £3 for a mani and £3 for a pedicure you can’t go very wrong! The original Christmas colours - red! Then we moved onto the bar we went to two nights previous and made the most of their rhum and coke, and G+Ts 241! They got stronger the more we ordered, which was needed because the singer had celebrity issues tonight she was being a diva and not really singing much, also very sad or just been broken off by someone because she sang soooo many sad songs - kind of killed our vibe! We tried to get some up beat tunes, not sure what she knew because she didn’t sing spice girls the other night... so we put the Beatles on the napkin. Please don’t sing a sad song like hey Jude.... guess what the diva sung. God damn hey Jude! Bloody typical.
9pm the band finished and so were we! We went down the strip to another bar half cut we found another bar with a cracking good band!
Ellie sported the huge plate of prawn crackers on the couple’s table next to us, I didn’t really need to dare her to ask to try one because she was already eating them in her mind. However she did ask and they did give us the plate and their last beer in their bucket because they were leaving. Haha! Get in there! She was as happy as a pig in s*** eating those bloody prawn crackers!
The band was fab and we were well and truly drunk singing or tone deaf heads off and being the extra entertainment for the guests. We called it a night around I think midnight and crawled home! Well I crawled and Ellie stormed home. Not sure what she got up her bum, possibly a rocket? Or I was walking extra slow-mo in my State haha!
What a bloody trip!!
