Hello!

Erm sorry I haven't added anything for a few days ! So what have I been up to in Taupo....well not a great deal! The first night I got here I met up with Marlin and two lasses from Shetland, we went out for a few drams and didnt get in until the wee hours...funny night though! As you can imagine I felt pretty rubbish the next day so chilled out and watched Lord of the Rings! Taupo is Mordor country for anyone who is interested! Have walked round part of the lake which is the size of Singapore apparently!

I have been waiting really to do the Tongario Crossing, which is one of NZ best day walks. Weather hasnt been great! So I eventually managed to get on that yesterday! Left the hostel at 5.40 in the morning...ouch! The walk itself took 7hours.....umm and its about 11.5 miles! It was lovely though, even though it was hard! I climbed up to the summit of Mt Tongario aswell (secong highest peak in the North Island). Views were great and coming down hurt a lot but it was through bush so was nice and cool!

Off to Gisborne today which should be nice and then to Napier for a few days or so!
