Hello!
From the 17th, 18th and 19th I have been walking on the Abel Tasman coastal path. Its one of the the top 6 great walks of NZ. Its great and we had so much fun. The scenery is out of this world and its so great that it fulls under a National Park. Beautiful paths that follow golden beaches and clear blue seas...walking through lush green bush with waterfalls and birds singing! It was lovely!!! We had to walk about 11km the first day, 9.5km the second day and 17km on the last day. We had to stay in Conseravtion huts overnight which turned out to amusing as we had to sleep on plastic mats which weer slightly uncomfortable!!
We didnt realise and nobody told us when we book the trek that we couldnt cook our own food and that we had to take our own sleeping bags! We'd never done a trek before..how were we to know!! Luckily we managed to cook up Rice salad before we left so all we had to eat the whole trek was bread (ended up as being balls of dough) with peanut butter...fresh raw carrot and Cucumber, peanuts and cold rice salad!!!!! Really annoying buy we survived it!! Met some lovely Kiwis there who were on holiday and offered us wine and coffee! Think they felt sorry for us! On the last day we treated ourselves to lunch at an exclusive lodge..had open steak sandwich...lush!But all in all it was a great trek!
Had to catch a water taxi back to where we started so that was good fun doing 360 turns and all! Saw some baby seals aswell playing in the shallows of an island rock pool..so cute!!
Anyway thats enough of all that! Pics to follow..... i promise!
