Hello!
Made it Gisborne, NZ's most easterly city so one of the first in the World to greet in the new day! Its a strange place...! There is a nice highstreet though with plently of shops etc and bars. Its where Captain Cook first touched NZ soil so there is a statue somewhere, lots of nice walks to do around the town!
Unspoilt countryside all around, beautiful rolling green hills and huge gorges!! Not many tourists either which is cool! Need a car to explore it better! Staying in a sweet place owned by a nice nz couple so thats cool.
Ended up doing a few walks round Gisborne, its not too bad after all once I explored the place. Walked along the river (which is the smallest in NZ!) really nice walk to the Captain Cook statue and to the landing site. Walked up a reserve for great views of Gisborne and the surroundings. Had nice lunch at the wharf and then went to the little museum, which was really sweet! Loads of history on the area and some of it is really sad especially about the Maori tribes
Off to Napier tomo to see what thats like!
