Hi Guys
Sorry I havent entered a blog in a while, its alll been hectic over here!!! We drove from Dunedin and visited the Royal Albatross Centre which was really cool. We saw some young chicks, that were already huge, but no adults as they were out at sea. The Otago Penisular is beautiful though just like a little fishing village, very sweet and very unspoilt!
From there we drove to Oamaru and stayed there a night to watch the Blue Penguins emerge from the sea and back into their burrows. It was so sweet, they are the smallest penguins in the world and are really cute to! Only thing that annoyed me about it were the other stupid people making a lot of noise and standing up so we couldnt see and there silly children screaming!!! So I put my fingers in my ears LOL!!!!! So that was a nice little stop over before Lake Tekapo.
The next day we drove to Lake Tekapo via Mount Cook (highest peak in Australisia) so that was pretty cool. I hadnt wanted to go all along but we were worried about having enough time but it turned out it wasnt very far at all to drive. It was a great day, clear blue sky so we could see the Mountains clearly. There are beautiful blue lakes around here aswell..they look like a huge swimming pool...awesome! There is lovely statue here of Sir Edmund Hilary as he trained here before concouring Everest!
Lake Tekapo was also really nice, really quite but soon to be a huge tourist destination I can tell!!! have a lovley photo of an old church right on the Lake front its really sweet but we couldnt help laughing at the Japanese Tourists waiting to snap the prefect picture!
It was really cold here though but the stars were wonderful and apparently its one of the best places in the world to star spot! I still think that Sty Bank and Scilly are pretty good though, if not better!!! xxxxx
