Thirteen hours of sleep later we are both back on our feet. Trapper was quick to point out she was awake for an hour in the night. So i guess 12-13 hours sleep.
I nearly forgot it seems like every church bell in town was ringing around 630-7pm. Trapper seems to think it was to warn of high tide flooding. She might be right as all the bells were ringing around the same time this morning.
Our bnb has the kitchen window on the canal. There is a bridge over the canal 15 feet from our window and our front door so it is all very good. The apartment is small but the bed is very comfortable.
Today we started by going to the galleria academia. It was supposed to be the best museum in Venice both bear and Trapper were alright with it but not blown away.
Then we went for a short stroll around saint marks square. And into the doge’s palace. The doges palace was quite good. Unsurprisingly trapper likes the prison most. We even had lunch in the basement which was both good and affordable.
We then went to st marks basilica. I really liked it. It had so much gold in the mosaics it was very amazing especially when we bought the special ticket to see upstairs.
We also saw the correr museum which was fine. Though I realized I had been there last time I was in Venice.
We then got another gelato and took in some of the deuling symphonies on the square before returning to the bnb.
All in all a very good day.
