Today we toured Assisi. We took in all the st Francis sites. We went to the church he built which is now in the
Middle of a cathedral they built around it. We walked through his rose garden. We even saw a dove that was nesting in his statue.

We then went up to the mountain top city to see all the sites of his life and his female compatriots (st Clare) sites. We went through several churches, an ancient temple, Roman temple several beautiful piazzas, all before reaching his basilica and the attached monestary.

The Franciscan complex was huge and beautiful and Extremely hard to describe but it had a certain serenity to it. I even placed a few candles with intentions. It was also great to hear more stories of his life and his association with animals the environment and the poor.

After that we went to our second agriturismo. It was very far down a dirt track in the mountains but it is amazing and supper was amazing and our room is cool unlike last night. All these days of 26 and 27 degrees are getting tiring.
