Hi everyone!
I have been really busy the last few weeks. I went to Lima for an english teaching workshop with the US embassy and someone from my community. I got lots of free things with it! But mostly, the information is what was really important. I feel like I have a good idea what I should teach, where I should start, and why its so important for people to know english. It greatly increases people's chance of being successful if they can speak english in this country. I never knew how lucky we were to have it as a native language.
Directly after, I helped a WatSan volunteer, who has been in peru for a year and 6 months, build 32 latrines along with high school students from the US and 15 other peace corps volunteers. It was alot of work, but was so happy to see my friends from training again! Now I am back at home, which feels strange because I have been gone so long. 2 weeks is a long time to be gone when you have only been living somewhere for 4 months. When I first came back, I felt like a stranger to my family. But after a few hours, I got back into the swing of things in the house.
This week, I am dedicating most of my time to writing my entire community diagnostic report. Which will be a pain because its IN SPANISH! This is the ultimate test of how far along my spanish has come thus far. I also am going to give an essay to kids in my high school for a leadership camp we are going to have, and preparing some things for english classes.
Its all work here in the peace corps this week! Hope things are well state side!
