Hey everyone!
I have been helping my dad alot in the chacra. We cut asparagus, which is harder than it looks. Its so labor intensive! And it hurts your back pretty bad. I mostly ride my bike out there to bring him his breakfast, then cut a few asparagus, and ride back to my house.
So, I think all americans are going to think this is funny: Once in a while, I hear parents call their kids "chooky", and wondered what it meant. it is supposed to mean that their kid is causing mischief and being bad. So I asked one day, what does chooky mean, and where did it come from. They told me, that there is a movie about a doll that causes mischief and is alive. If you havent guessed, they are talking about the movie "chucky" where the doll is the devil and kills people. So they are calling their kids chucky and they are being little devils. I laughed like crazy when I heard this. Then told them that chucky is a nickname for charles, and is not a devil doll. They were all amazed.
Another funny story: My older sister gave me a slinky for chirstmas. (thanks djuna!) my parents were playing with it one day, and asked "whats this? How do you play with it? What is it for?" I showed them that it can walk down stairs, you can put it on your eyes, and move it back and forth in your hands. They think its the funniest thing, and love playing with it. They always ask what do you do with it, and if everyone in the US plays with them.
hope things are well in the states!
Happy travels,
Teigan

Live Comment From Mom That's the thing about culture. You send it out, classic or rotten, and you never know where it will land or what it will wrought. Chucky today, Palin tomorrow. Mom
