Hey Everyone!
Things are really starting to pick up here. I started my surveys in my community. Really, its easier to go around with a peruvian, but I just cant wait around for my community partner anymore. She was gone for a month, then was too busy to see me, and now her daughter has appendicitus. So I am going to go around by myself. I also have started to teach english twice a week. One hour for adults and one hour for kids each day. I teach with another girl who is going to school to learn to be an english teacher. Which is great, because I can help her with her pronunciation, and she can eventually take over my english class. Which is the plan. Thats the meaning of sustainability right?
In the next few months, I am going to be away from my community lots. In Feb, March, and April, B3 is coming down to do projects with the peace corps. 4 projects in total, three of which are bathroom/latrine projects, and one water pipe line project. My site partner has B3 coming twice, one week in Feb. and one week in March, to build something rediculous like 65 letrines. I have been helping a bit with that. In April, I go to Pisco to help with a different project. In all of this, us new volunteers also have one week for early IST (In service training), one week for PDM(Project design management), Semana santa, the pacasmayo marathon, and HIV weekend.
There is a big strike on transportation tomorrow, so I will not be going anywhere. It will be my first strike! I was Ica tonight, and things felt a little tense.
So I am way busier, which is nice. Though I dont get as much time to play guitar :(
Hope things are well!
