Hey all!

Today is my birthday!! Its 10 am and its already been a full day. My family cracked a raw egg over my head, which is supposed to be for good luck. You better believe that I am cracking a raw egg over all of their heads for their birthdays. Its a bit unpleasant. But peruvians think its funny. I bathes with freezing cold water in the morning, which was also not very fun, and went to the high school to give an essay assignment for Camp VALOR, which is a camp the peace corps is holding for boys about leadership in a community. There is also a camp for girls in July.

My mom is making chicharrones (deep fried pork, really good) and two cakes for me today, and some volunteers are coming over for my birthday, as well as much of my family. I am sure we are going to drink lots of beer and pisco, because peruvians love to drink, dance, and party. Not too late!! I have to write my community diagnostic!

All in all, things are going pretty well here. I have been so busy lately. These next three months, I will only be in my site for a total of 7 days each month!! So things are really busy here. People keep asking me where I have been.
