Gulliver's Travels
Oh sad time it is for peace corps volunteers! Christmas away from home, in a strange place with strange customs. I spent christmas with my host family here in Ica. Its a custom here in peru for the family to stay up until 12 am of the 25th of december, and then we put the baby jesus in its cradle onto the nativity scene, and eat a full meal at 1 am. We go to bed about 3 am. It was fun, but still nothing like the feeling of christmas at home. No snow, no tree, no presents, no hot chocolate, and no family members.
But I still have fun here! On christmas day, I went to Palpa, my friend Jess's site. We went to the beach, fished, and got so sunburnt! I put up pictures.
Have a good one!
