Day 21 - Gemtree The reason we chose to stop here was to go garnet fossicking and what fun we had. We met at 8:15am to collect our fossicking equipment (which was a 20 litre water drum, a bucket, 4x sieves, a pick, a shovel and a small tin) then at 8:30am we left on a Tag-a-long tour. Day 20 - Alice Springs to Gemtree (143km / 2hrs) We only had a short drive today so we decided to stay at the holiday park until 10am. The kids had fun at the playground while Rog & I got organised. Day 19 - Alice Springs Today Rog & Bronte had a relaxing day at the caravan park while Josh and I went to the Alice Springs Desert Park. The Desert Park is all the animals and landscapes found in the Centre of Australia. First we went to the Dingo talk and next we went to the Emu talk. Day 17 Alice Springs Today was a sightseeing day around town with Mum & Dad. First stop was School of the Air. They showed us a movie, showed us the old radio systems they used, we looked at some artworks and then we got to sit in a live class. It was a year 6 maths class and my kids enjoyed answering the questions. Day 16 Erldunda to Alice Springs (195km / 2.5 hrs) We only had a short drive today so we had a slow morning. The kids fed the camels and kangaroos some carrot, apples & zucchini then we fuelled and left Erldunda Roadhouse around 9:30am. We stopped halfway at Stuart Wells and had a look around the Roadhouse.
