Day 25 - Mataranka Every morning at Little Roper they have free billy tea with freshly made Johnny cakes and puff-da-loons (for $1 each) which you add spread too. They were so yummy and we also bought a loaf of freshly made bread for lunch. They also bring out a snake and blue tongue lizards for the kids to hold around the campfire. Day 24 - Daly Waters to Mataranka (172km/3 hrs) We only had a quick drive today so we weren’t in a rush so Rog cooked bacon & eggs for breakfast while we chatted to our friends next door. Day 23 - Devils Marbles to Daly Waters (504km/7hrs) Again we were up early waiting for the sun to rise and were able to get away just before 7am. It was a big driving day with not a lot to look at apart from lots of eagles circling and sometimes we were lucky to see the wedgies right near the road, cattle and lots of termite mounds. Day 22 - Gemtree to Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles) 402km/5.5hrs We were up at 6am waiting for the sun to rise so we could hit the road. We could finally leave at 7am and headed down the dual single lane road back to the Stuart Highway. We had to pull off the road a few times for cars to pass. We only saw 2 kangaroos.
