Sunday 9May
Hi. As you can see we drove through some spectacular scenery today. The "med" is so blue when the sun is shining. The Amalfi Coast is famous for its rugged hills and inlets with ancient villages around and up and down the cliffs. It really is spectacular. We are parked in a very small camp ground right on the waters edge, perfect, eating pasta, drinking red wine and listening to Pavaroti sing. For the first time we have fired up Betsy's hot water shower and its wonderful, yea.
Monday. Drove down to the end of Italy and will catch the ferry to Sicily tomorrow. Another beautiful day, shorts now. We love Italian road engineering, tunnels & viaducts, gives the amazing views, even though a little scary, I don't like looking over the sides of the viaducts they are sooooo high. The finish of the roads, excepting motorways , is appalling., like you would imagine in a third world country. Italy is very dirty with rubbish just dumped every where. Lots of buildings half finished, don't know if they are new or old & falling down. Getting rather tired of Italian drivers, though their driving seems to work for them./ Tail gating, passing on blind corners, fitting 3 cars wide on a single lane road, & then there's those scooters, millions of them!!!
