After a quick Dunkins breakfast we caught up with the crew at the hotel and set off for the zoo.
We did the fast free pass into the zoo via customer services and went straight to the aquarium where we were met by one of the staff. He gave us a terrific tour of the back room workings of the aquarium. We got to walk over the exhibits and see the shark display etc from above which was very cool. Way cooler, i got to feed and play with a large octopus! It would wrap it long arms around my arm and sucker on, a really awesome experience. Pete stayed back and missed out so we will have to come back another year so he gets to do it too.
Once the tour was over we checked out the aquarium displays and then explored most of the zoo. We were all hungry and tired before we saw it all so again, an excuse to repeat the experience another year :-)
We went to a restaurant just down the road from the store and grabbed a late lunch. Pete had a massive burger which was 1 lb meat & half a lb cheese. He demolished it pretty fast considering the size lol
We stopped briefly into the store to see what was happening tonight and then returned to the hotel to rest a bit, shower and change before tonight's much calmer dinner at an Italian restaurant. Jims wife and four small kids were there too along with us, Lemon, Boomer and Veronica & Larry. None of us ate much cos of the huge lunch but what we had was very good.
When we left the restaurant we found the eclipse had already started so we raced back to the hotel where Pete set up his tripod in the car park and got some shots. We had hoped to head out of town where there was less light but it just didn't work out that way. We all sat in the carpark having a few drinks watching Pete take the pics and generally having a lot of laughs.
We got back to our room about midnight, we watched most of a New Tricks before crashing out for the night.
