We got up about 8am and went downstairs. Sanjay got us some bagels and cream cheese and under instruction from Elena made us some coffee. Elena left for her meeting and the rest of us left shortly after, Sanjay to get to his meeting and us to explore the area a little before hitting the road.
We checked out most of the places they showed us last night so we could get some pics in daylight. It's still huge by day lol Much of the park areas have been set up as car parks with porta loos ready for the game tomorrow.
It's a bit of a hike to Tal's so going against our usual plans we took the highway. It actually wasn't too bad, only two lanes in each direction and lots of trees on each edge. We got stuck in slow moving traffic, mostly trucks when we hit a few miles of road works but otherwise it moved ok.
We took a detour to check out a burger bar they'd told us about last night. This joint has the Guinness record for the worlds largest commercially sold burger, the 25lb beef-an-actor. For those in Aust that's about that's about 11.36kg!! They have a challenge with a few of their burgers, eat them in under three hours and it's free. Pete thinks he could do a 2 or 3 lb challenge easily but not today having not long since had breakfast.
We've made a vow to S & E though, we will return to go with them to a game and to eat at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub lol
We stopped for fuel and a quick lunch shortly before crossing the state line into Ohio, then we remembered fuel is at least 10c/ gal cheaper in Ohio, DOH! We left the sunshine and blue skies behind at the state line, replacing it with heavy cloud; Tal had been telling us there's rain forecast for his part of the world today so we expected it anytime. Despite the clouds the rain held off and we crossed into Michigan and we were on the home stretch to Tal's.
We got there about seven with vodka and cranberry juice in hand. He had dinner ready, a slow cooked pork and some yummy salads.
We sat on his back deck after dinner with the awesome lake view, very relaxing after the long drive. We lasted til a little after midnight before we crashed out.
