I've been back in Bangkok a day and it feels so strange to be somewhere where I know my surroundings so well.
It was wonderful to meet up with my former work colleague Aimi. It was great to see a friendly face from back home and nice to catch up as I hadn't seem her for 5 years. I hope she really enjoys her life out here & if you're reading this Aimi, good luck with the jewellery!
Despite heavy rainfall, I went out to meet two Spanish ladies who I met on the skyride in here (Jesus & Laia). We went to a local place which meant the drinks prices were reasonable. Still nowhere near as cheap as what I was paying in Laos.
This morning I took a walk out to the Market where I ate local food on my last visit. Strangely enough it had been converted to a Car Sales Garage.
I didn't have to walk far till I found a street stall. For Brunch I had a very delicious spicy noodle soup with chicken. Long gone are the days where I wake up & crave a full English breakfast!
Shortly I will take a walk out to Khao San Road to meet my new Spanish friends, where we'll then go and visit the Chinatown area (a place I didn't manage to see last time).
I'm debating whether to visit Ayutthaya (the old capital city) for a couple of days or head south to the Islands. As the weather isn't quite screaming out "get to the beach" I'm in no great rush to hit the islands. Either way it's a nice problem to have.
