A really wonderful day. With the clouds hanging around first thing we had a couple of hands of poker before the clouds began to clear and we set off to climb the Sealy Tarns track which was a pretty steep ascent. We reached the top just as a little avalanche fell down in the opposite valley, it was a glorious day and we sat having our lunch looking up at the peaks of Mounts Cook and Sefton. After climbing down and using our solar shower for the first time we drove back along lake Pukaki and pulled over at the lookout spot at the south of the island. Now this is some claim given the places we have been but this is probably the most amazing view you could imagine. It seems as though the whole Southern Alps range is rising right out of the turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki (with our memory card in pocket we ere able to get passersby to take a few snaps), really really breathtaking. Believe it our not the day got even better as we travelled on to Lake Tekapo.
