After our beautiful breakfast at Momorangi we were keen to make our way further into the Sounds so we headed to the town on Havelock where we refuelled, bought supplies and did some interneting. We also treated ourselves to a fisherman's basket which was various pieces of seafood battered or breadcrumbed but amazingly fresh and tasty. Refreshed we headed further north along the winding coastal road with the aim of reaching French Pass which was about as far north as it was possible to drive. On route we stopped for a short walk on Goat Hill Track where we got our first glimpse of the turquoise waters below us. We then drove along the spine of of ridge of hills with spectacular views down to the Tasman Sea and Admiralty Bay. We reached French Pass and were again able to pull up next to the beach before an evening stroll along the beach and lazily sitting amongst the lillies watching the boats coming in in the evening. Unless the weather turns we aim to stay in this idyllic little spot for a couple of nights.
