Today we didn't drag or force ourselves of bed, instead we slept until 11.15! We couldn't believe how long we slept. Maribel, host mum, gave us a big breakfast of toast, cake and biscuits. I was relieved that she didn't pour us bowl of cereal and flood it with coffee which is what she once did last time.
We had a couple of hours so we walked round Salamanca again. It was great to find a viewpoint that you could climb up for free and see a view of the city. Although not so great for Nicola as the stairs were see through and her fear of heights was revealed to me.
We travelled from Salamanca to León, with a Spanish man and lady who spoke very fast, it was a challenge to keep up and I felt exhausted after getting out the car.
Quickly, we found our hostel, very nice and modern!
Walked around the town a bit, it seems very pretty. We ate in a restaurant in the sun and then continued to explore the streets.
We came back to the hostel and got on with planning the rest of our trip however we didn't get very far as hostels seem to be few and far between in the North. We are going to talk with tourist information tomorrow and have a rethink. We'll get it sorted!

Caryn Thank you for the update. You did well in Salamanca with a nice lie in and huge breakfast. Leon looks like an interesting place, as do the hostel beds! Hopefully tourist information will be able to give you a few ideas of where you can stay next. What temperature is it there? Please can you take photos landscape as the portrait ones are difficult to view on a phone xxxx
