Matt and Ant's Travels
Today was our day to book all our tours that we would do whislt on the island. We had hoped to book a 4 day sea Kayaking trip where you live off the land for the time you spend away and camp on deserted beached. We were all really excited about it until we were told that the last trip went out that morning and we had missed it. Instead we booked a day trip which I think Rynn was more pleased about as she wasnt too keen to get back to basics..Matt and I were gutted as it was just what we wanted to do. We also booked for a days Whale watching and a Day sailing on a catermarang (not sure how to spell it). We were all really excited by the time we left the booking office and our purses were far lighted but it will be worth it.
We spent the afternoon with two other girls who are also at Guys and happen to be doing there elective in tonga as well, Anna and Becca who are really nice. We decided to go cycling down to some caves but all the bikes on the island are broken so instead we walked in the midday heat for about an hour until we finally got to this path that supposedly lead us to the caves but we couldn't see any caves? As we headed down the path Matt suddenly got all excited and it turned out the caves were up the hill and were very deep so water came in from the sea. Its really hard to explain but basically there is a hole in the wall which is filled with water. Matt went first and Jumped down into the black hole and after a few minutes we all followed suit and it was really cool we were just bobbing about in a dark cave full of water! Luckily we all managed to get out ok and spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the caves around the sea shore. The longer I spend here the more I fall in love...travellings a dangerous game where you end up wanting to stay and never come home....luckily I have my family at home to lure me back!
