Matt and Ant's Travels
Our second day in Vava'u was slightly annoying as it was a sunday and absolutely nothing is open so we couldnt even plan the things we wanted to do whilst we were here. We somehow managed to get a taxi driver to take us to this remote beach on the eastern side of the island where we caught a little fishing boat to an island called Mala. It was our first real taste of proper south pacific islands and it is truely stunning. The beaches are white sand and the water is crystal blue. We spend the day snorkelling around the island and had a really lovely BBQ for lunch. It was pretty expensive on the island and cans of coke cost just under 2 pounds! After lunch whilst us girls lazed around on the beach and had a swim matt went snorkelling out to a coral reef called the japanese garden and saw so many beautiful fish of loads of different colours. I didnt go out as the woman who came out of the water just before I went in announced she had just seen two huge sea snakes....that really put me off but Matt had a great time and I enjoyed the swim instead. We spent the rest of the afternoon on our own deserted island before heading back and managed to catch the sunset whilst we were on the boat back it was magical!
