Soongies' Great Adventure
24 hours of travelling after leaving Perth (Singapore to Jo'burg to Cape Town) we finally get to walk onto African soil! Well at least pavement and concrete to the pick up point to meet our Uber driver. Checked in to our AirBnB in Green Point (you can tell we're hardcore travellers - Ubers and AirBnBs). By the way, great location to stay in Cape Town - close to shops, restaurants, waterfront and Green Point stadium. Cape Town: Kate's initial impression: It's like any place in Australia but it has this amazing backdrop of the beautiful Table Mountain. Calvin's second impression: No impression. Just trying to remember if things have changed since he was here 7 years ago. An interesting observation that even though Cape Town has this relaxed and chilled out yet vibrant feel about it, the reality of the situation can be seen in the electric fences, razor wire, laser alarms that arm the many houses and properties around the area. Basically activities for today included: walking to Woolworths for some groceries, walking past Green Point Stadium to the V&A Waterfront, ate a giant custard croissant, had an ice-cream, had a few pieces of cape seed loaf with caramelised onion cheese, took a harbour sightseeing tour on a boat (actually really interesting - saw Paul Allen's Tatoosh - no, not his ****, his yacht, the 43rd biggest yacht in the world), and booked ourselves to go snorkelling with dolphins and seals for Tuesday. Very pleasantly surprised at the cheap food prices! Plans to eat our way around the world is coming to fruition! Also Kate's feet, awkward as always, needed new socks - a few attempts at finding the right socks were required...

Tasch I love Cape Town! Have an awesome time. One thing that is a must is climbing Table Mountain in the dark and arriving at the top just as the sun rises - it is amazing!
Sarah P Knowing how much you both like food - I would be too scared to do this with either of you
