We have now finally been on the dolphin safari, but it didn't really go according to plan but we did see some dolphins and a couple of seals.
The day started early and it was a bit chilly but it usually gets better. We got to the marina at 8.30 and got on the boat, a big blue sailboat. We got wetsuits and a hot drink (tea for Andrew and chocolate for me). THen off to the Mount to pick up some more passangers. Unfortunately the Marine Research had "parked" their boat in our spot so we had to dock along side them and the people had to get across from their boat to ours.
Then off at sea, Butler told us about the dolhins, whales, orcas and sharks they usually see and I soo wanted to see an orca!
After a couple of hours we stopped to have lunch and we saw some seals. Unfortunately the sea was a bit rough and people weren't feeling so good, including Andrew. I felt a bit sick when I was down below deck with Andrew but then I got up outside which was better. A lot better.
After lunch we were off again, but we didn't see any dolphins or anything else until 15.40 and then I had fallen asleep. But yeah there they were, 4 dolphins, Common Dolphins (that's actually what they are called although they weren't that common). "Unfortunately" it was a family and when they ahave kids you are not allowed to get in the water which was fine, we were all quite frozen by then.
We got another trip for free if we want it since it didn't go so well, but I don't think Andrew will get on a boat anytime soon. I was thinking of going on my own since I'm off during the week and get a bit bored on my own but we'll see. I'm still pretty happy, we still got to see some dolphins and that was the whole point.
