Zvi Josef's Travels
WOW, what a day!
Checked out from SOfitel Royal Lagoon in Dongguan, and they even managed to screw up our chek out, since they called us a cab that could not carry our two suitcases to the airport, so they ended up sending us to the airport with the hotel's car at half the price they originally wanted. Ha ha! :)
They told us that since May 2nd is a national holiday, the drive to the airport ought to take apx. 2 hours with traffic, but it only took 45 minutes, so we ended up waiting for our flight to Beijing for an hour and a half.
After an uneventful flight (Hainan Air - a 5-star company, if you really need to know...) we landed in Beijing and waited for our suitcases.
We knew we have to take a train to twon and then 2 subways to our hotel.
When we got to the train, they told us it was "broken", so we waited for a bus, that took forever to leave and went straight into rush hour in Beijing (ouch!).
After apx. 50 minutes, we went off the bus at what we thought was the nearest place to the subway station. We were right - only 800 meters of walking during which my suitcase suffered some structure damage (oy...).
We then took two subways and reached our hotel, only to realize we were given the same (upgraded) suite we stayed in 2 weeks ago. How great is that!!! :)
We immediately went to the Club Sofitel and enjoyed a happy hour of drinks, cheeses, salads, breads and all sort of delicious food. We are literally stuffed and there is no way we're having dinner tonight. :)
We have 3 more night in Beijing and we sure as hell plan to enjoy them to their fullest.
Take care! :)))
