After a rather good night sleep and a great breakfast, we're soon off to Badaling for the Wall. We need to take the underground, change a line or two and catch a 1.5 hour train to the site. Hope we make it... . :)
More updates - this evening.
22:30 update: Back from Badaling aftr doing the Great Wall. Well, it IS great and certainly challenging. :)
We arrived there at apx. 15:00 after having taken the 13:20 train. We spent about an hour and a half climbing the way too steep stairs (and getting down, too), while the weather was sunny yet cool. At a certain point, we had to wear our long sleeved shirts because it was cold.
Then we realized that all the food stalls in the area close down at 16:30, as does the cable cars.
We had no choise other than to wait for our booked train for 2 and a half hours (while examining busses back to Beijing).
All in all, a fun and tiring day.
Tomorrow we say bye bye to Beijing and fly to our next destination - Nanjing. :)
